Billerica’s Relay for Life walkers celebrate life and remember those lost to cancer
2010 was a bittersweet year for Robyn Foti. Her daughter was born and then just four months later, her mother was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Throughout the two years she was sick, including having surgery, Foti helped her with daily chores and drove her to treatments, providing physical and emotional support. She said it was hard on her family and her sister, whose child was only 5 years old at the time. “It was a rough ride,” said Foti. “It was a shock how fast everything happened.” — Wicked Local Billerica

Board will ask to remove Bartels Lodge from district

Dighton Board of Selectmen releases schedule for bridge construction
The Dighton Board of Selectmen announced the latest construction schedule for the Berkley-Dighton Bridge at Wednesday’s meeting. Previously, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation awarded the construction bid to S&R Corporation out of Lowell, and construction is set to start after July 1, beginning with the destruction of timbers, pilings and substructures of the old bridge — expected to be completed by the end of 2012. — Wicked Local Dighton
