Pembroke volunteers plant 300 trees
Pembroke residents continued to celebrate the town’s 300th birthday over the past weekend with help from Rick Madden, Kyle Harney and a dozens of volunteers, as they planted 300 trees in the Wind Swept Bogs at 91 Glenwood Rd. — Wicked Local Pembroke

Pembroke Community Center Task Force elects Hanley as Chairman
The Community Center Task Force met for the third time Wednesday night, this time in the Bingo Hall in the community center building. The 23-member task force is charged with recommending whether to renovate the community center, built in the 1930s, or to demolish and construct a new building in its place. Plans for infamous Pembroke intersection get funding
At Pembroke Town Meeting on April 24, voters passed $15,000 to update traffic light plans for the intersection of Pleasant Street and Route 53 in Pembroke. — Wicked Local Pembroke

Pembroke voters re-elect Trabucco, Stone
Voters on Saturday re-elected selectmen Lewis Stone and Daniel Trabucco to three-year terms. Stone, with 605 votes, and Trabucco, with 598 votes, edged out challenger Ataul Ahmad, with 318 votes, in the town's only contested race. Library video challenge winners from Pembroke
The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) announced the winners of the 2012 Teen Video Challenge.  The Teen Video Challenge is a national competition for teens to get involved with Reading and their public library's summer Reading program.  Winning videos were selected at the state level to be recognized as an official CSLP Teen Video Challenge winner for 2012. — Wicked Local Pembroke

Pembroke Public Schools Music Department wins award
Seven music ensembles from Pembroke High School comprised of 134 students, accompanied by three teachers and 14 parent chaperones traveled to New York City to compete in the Festivals of Music competition on April 12 through 15.
