Upgrades continue at police station
Middleton’s Police Station has been undergoing much-need renovations since last year, and Chief of Police James DiGianvittorio is seeking funding for the third and final phase. Town Meeting members will decide next month whether to spend $30,000 for the last two phases of the project to expand and rehabilitate the Police Station Tuesday, May 8 in the Howe-Manning gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. For several months students from North Shore Technical School have been working on the addition, said Chief DiGianvittorio. “I buy the supplies, and they do the work,” said DiGianvittorio. The final phase will include new carpeting, flooring, painting and minor renovations to the existing building. After purchasing portable classrooms that were no longer useful to the school department, the town decided to recycle the modules at the police station to add much-needed space to the existing building. — Wicked Local Middleton
