Dighton presents plans for new police station
Around 30 residents attended a public hearing Tuesday night on the proposed new Dighton Police Station held at the Dighton Middle School. Voters will decide on the new station at the upcoming Annual Town Meeting on June 12 and, if approved, at a special referendum likely at the end of August, according to Jim Howland, chair of the police station committee. — Wicked Local Dighton

Dighton Board of Selectmen releases schedule for bridge construction
The Dighton Board of Selectmen announced the latest construction schedule for the Berkley-Dighton Bridge at Wednesday’s meeting. Previously, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation awarded the construction bid to S&R Corporation out of Lowell, and construction is set to start after July 1, beginning with the destruction of timbers, pilings and substructures of the old bridge — expected to be completed by the end of 2012. — Wicked Local Dighton
