Bob Healy talks about his 30 years leading Cambridge As Cambridge’s city manager since the summer of 1981, Bob Healy has overseen Cambridge from the deficits and uncertainty of that period to the prosperity of today. “The driver of Cambridge’s success is the presence of Harvard and MIT,” Healy said, who is retiring next summer. With Healy, Cambridge has taken a cautious fiscal approach, stockpiling historic reserves rather than spending all it could.
