After learning about the Iditarod in Alaska, students at Howe-Manning took a trip over to the field behind Fuller Meadow School where they had the chance to interact with real sled dogs on Wednesday, April 11. Northern Exposure Outfitters from Brookfield presented the program. Students met the mushers Eileen Vitello and her son Bailey, trainer Gabby Pecore and their Alaskan huskies. They learned about training, taking care of the dogs, giving interactive commands and working as a team.  This year, students got to meet with Bailey Vitello, who just finished racing in the Jr. Iditarod in Alaska. — Wicked Local Middleton
