For more than 300 years, the origins of inscriptions carved into Dighton Rock have been debated by historians and writers. Dighton Board of Selectmen releases schedule for bridge construction
The Dighton Board of Selectmen announced the latest construction schedule for the Berkley-Dighton Bridge at Wednesday’s meeting. Previously, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation awarded the construction bid to S&R Corporation out of Lowell, and construction is set to start after July 1, beginning with the destruction of timbers, pilings and substructures of the old bridge — expected to be completed by the end of 2012. — Wicked Local Dighton

Berkley Board of Selectmen chair steps down; FY13 budget addressed
Choosing not to seek reelection in the upcoming Annual Town Election, Selectmen Chair Mark Pettey Jr. attended his final meeting on Wednesday after six years on the board. “This was like being in the Army. Berkley selectmen address bridge plans, casino impact
The Berkley Board of Selectmen announced that the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has released a third option for the construction of the Padelford Street Bridge over Route 24 that would close the bridge for five to seven weeks. — Wicked Local Berkley

Meeting addresses concerns, options on replacing Padelford Street Bridge in Berkley
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation held a public hearing Monday night on a proposed bridge replacement in Berkley. The project, which would rebuild the existing Padelford Street Bridge that crosses over Route 24, is 25 percent of the way through the design process. New Berkley-Dighton Bridge construction set to start in July
A new Berkley-Dighton Bridge is on its way. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) recently awarded a construction bid to S&R Corporation based out of Lowell for around $12.5 million. — Wicked Local Berkley
